It was inaugurated in January 14th, 2012 VITTORIO DE SETA, DIARY OF A MASTER OF CINEMA, an important first tribute dedicated to the great director, who departed in November 2012. The sorrow for the death of Vittorio pushed friends, colleagues, directors, cultural workers and their admirers to coordinate quickly to give to the Roman public vision of a truly original and unique filmography. They in facts were as many as 18 screens that offered his movies in about two weeks in Rome and with membership from various Italian cities such as Padova,Pisa and Bologna have proposed, in the weeks following, some of the event of the Roman review. It’s a tribute to the undisputed protagonist of Italian cinema, making him express through his own films: Vittorio De Seta was an independent author both in their own artistic choices and in production methods adopted to achieve them, and true innovator of film language, which is still the point of reference for many filmmakers, even the younger generation. The festival is totally self-managed and self-produced, represents an extraordinary opportunity to see and review, and learn more about the films of De Seta. For the first time joined forces municipal libraries, cinemas, arthouse cinemas, clubs, university classrooms and school, in an articulation of spaces and places that involves the entire city of Rome, both in the center and in the suburbs. Each projection was accompanied by the activation of collaborators of Vittorio, critics, historians and filmmakers in the audience, including Gianni Amelio, Luciano Tovoli, Goffredo Fofi, Enrico Ghezzi, Mario Sesti, RaffaeleLa Capria, Cecilia Mangini, Adriano Apra, Marco Lodoli, Gianfranco Pannone, Marzia Mete and many others.
