After the success of the first edition, Telecom Italy announces the 2nd Festival of Italian Cinema in Buenos Aires: KISSES, directed by Barbara Nava that will occur in the capital of Argentina December 5 to 9 pv

In the space of five days will be presented a selection of the most awarded Italian films and recent production. There will be about 30 titles selected from films, documentaries and short films by established and emerging directors.

Telecom Italy proposes a virtual trip in the Italy of yesterday and today with the aim of bringing the best of Italian cinema to Argentina, building and ideal and cultural cooperation between the two countries and renewing the success of the first edition of BACI.

The twinning between Italy and Argentina will be sealed with the agreement of cultural exchange (Italy y Argentina, iguales y diferentes: Memorias del futuro), supported by Telecom Italia and signed between the University of Buenos Aires and the Experimental Centre of Cinematography in Rome. Telecom will provide participants with mini tablet to make short films during the days of the festival. The winner will be given the opportunity of a study trip to Rome at the Centro Sperimentale.

The opening of the festival will take place at the Teatro Coliseo with the film Cesare deve morire by Paolo and Vittorio Taviani, which won the Golden Bear at the 2012 Berlin International Film Festival and was chosen as Italian film to compete for an Oscar. The opening ceremony will be attended by Giovanna Taviani, guest of honor at the inaugural night. For the occasion a video by Vittorio Taviani will be screened.

Among the location of the festival the prestigious MALBA Museo de Arte Latinoamericana de Buenos Aires.

Among the films that will be presented in this second edition of the festival: Romanzo di una strage by Marco Tullio Giordana, Reality by Matteo Garrone, Grand Jury Prize at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival.

Also this year BACI aims to present to the argentine public some Italian emerging filmmakers and /or the most representative of the moment. Among the selected films Io sono Li by Andrea Segre, Isole by Stephen Chiantini, Sette atti di misericordia by Gianluca and Massimiliano De Serio, Intervallo by Leonardo Di Contanzo, Scialla by Francesco Bruni, who got five nominations for the David di Donatello 2012 and the Award for best New Director. ACAB by Stefano Sollima who got six nominations for the David di Donatello.

Among the other titles: Terraferma by Emanuele Crialese and Magnifica presenza by Ferzan Ozpetek with 8 nominations at the 2012 David di Donatello Awards.

In the documentary section: La nave dolce by Daniele Vicari, Pasinetti Award winner in 2012 for the best documentary film given by SNGCI, Hit the Road, Nonna by Duccio Chiarini, Italy Love it or Leave it by Gustav Hofer and Luca Ragazzi.

Among the short films that will be seen in this edition should be mentioned: Sotto casa (2011) by Alessio Lauria, winner of numerous awards including the Creative Contest – Short Film Festival of Rome in 2012 for best short film and best actor to Riccardo De Filippis.

BACI – TELECOM, in order to facilitate the exchange between Italy and Argentina also organizes two panel discussions among Italian and Argentine guests that will be moderated by journalists, Maurizio Di Rienzo and Giancarlo Zappoli.

Jurors of this second edition of BACI will: Pippo del Bono, Giovanna Taviani, Luca Ragazzi, Ricardo Manetti, Emilio Bellon, Andrea Tognin.

Co-sponsor of BACI TELECOM is under the patronage of MIBAC and MAE with the Embassy of Italy and the ‘Institute of Culture of Buenos Aires in collaboration with Cinecittà Luce, the Experimental Cinema Centre and Italian Film Commissions.
